Brilliant piece of kit. The 16-inch probe easily reaches the back of commercial chiller units, and the screen makes it so much easier to gauge the leak size compared to my old beeping sniffer.
Arrived next day in perfect condition. I mainly work with heat pumps now, and finding a reliable R32 leak detector at this price point is fantastic. The built-in torch is a lifesaver in dark lofts.
I've used premium brands that cost three times as much, but this Aprvtio unit holds its own. The 3000mAh battery means I'm not constantly buying AAs. Highly recommend for any F-Gas registered engineer.
Very accurate on R410A and R134a. The only slight downside is the 30-second warm-up time, but it's a minor gripe for such a sensitive heat diode leak detector.
Much better than the Therm La Mode one I had previously. The build quality feels sturdier, and the 2.8-inch display is incredibly clear even in bright sunlight outside by condensing units.
Bought this for automotive AC work. The flexible probe is great for getting down into the engine bay, and the UV light picked up the dye instantly. A bit bulky, but very effective.
Operating Instructions
- Power on the device in a clean-air environment and wait approximately 30 seconds for the sensor to warm up and calibrate.
- Select your desired sensitivity level on the 2.8-inch screen based on the suspected leak size.
- Slowly sweep the 16-inch flexible probe along the refrigerant lines, joints, and valves at a rate of roughly 1 to 2 inches per second.
- Use the integrated UV or LED light if inspecting in dark or cramped areas.
- When a leak is detected, the device will emit an audible alarm and the display will indicate the concentration level.
